This is a 2015 EU reissue vinyl LP pressing of Straight Outta Compton by N.W.A. The American gangsta rap group originally released their debut studio album on August 8, 1988, via Ruthless Records. Produced by group members 1Dr Dre, DJ Yella and Arabian Prince, the album was recorded at Audio Achievements in Torrance, California, with lyrics written by N.W.A member, Ice Cube and MC Ren along with Ruthless rapper The D.O.C. Straight Outta Compton received gangsta rap's first platinum certification, one million copies sold by then. That year, the album peaked at number 9 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, and at number 37 on the Billboard200. In 2016, it became the first rap album inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame. The next year, the Library of Congress enshrined Straight Outta Compton in the National Recording Registry, who have deemed it to be "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".
