The American jazz composer and trumpeter originally released his album in January 1957, via Blue Note Records. Recorded at WOR Studios (New York City) and Apex Studios (New York City), this 12” LP features selections from various dates Fats had featured on between 1947-1949 with the Tadd Dameron Sextet, Bud Powell Quintet, and the McGhee-Navarro Boptet.
