Produced by Catherine Marks and the band members, the album was recorded at Shangri-La Studios in Malibu. Boygenius Consists of Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus. The Record and its tracks received a total of seven nominations at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year and Record of the Year. It received three awards, including Best Alternative Music Album.
